  • It’s Not Like This is Rocket Science… Oh, Wait… It Is

    October 2, 2007

Rocket. The Water Rocket Index is quite possibly the most extensive site about water rockets I’ve ever seen. (It is also the first.) The page covers everything from construction to safety, and offers tips and tactics to get the most of your water rocketeering. (Make this your excuse to get out of racketeering, as my spell check is insisting THAT’S what you’re into.)

Water rockets can be quite possibly the most fun you can have during physics class, as the activity allows students to create something simple but unique, and they learn about rocket science and physics at the same time. There are all sorts of projects to do here, and a plethora of customizations that will allow you and your students a well-deserved break from staring at numbers and letters on a harsh whiteboard. There is even an aerial photography section if you’re looking to really catch a bird’s eye view without having to rent a helicopter. –JEREMY S. GRIFFIN

[UPDATE 10/20/09: Sadly, the Water Rocket Index appears to be kaput.]
