Whether you teach general math, algebra, geometry, trigonometry or calculus, your students will want to take advantage of Solve My Math. Solve My Math is the clunky-yet-apt title of an online repository of math facts, formulas, and even a little bit of fun in their games section (I recommend Towers of Hanoi).

Validate just how prime a number is, find two numbers’ least common multiples, and figure out if 9409 is a perfect square (hey, it is!). Solve My Math is particularly fond of calculators, and I’m not talking about the cheap handhelds on which the coolest thing you can do is type “7734″ and flip it upside down. Solve My Math features a calculation tools for several levels of math, from the Derivative Calculator for calculus courses, to more basic stuff like divisor calculators.

Solve My Math is a great way for students to check their answers to make sure they’ve worked a problem out correctly. Don’t worry, SMM doesn’t show its work, so students will still have to puzzle through on their own. -BILL FERRIS
