Something Write Now: Write Source
May 1, 2008
With as much user-created content there is on the web, it’s becoming increasingly important for writers to have the skills and creativity it takes to engage and sustain readers. Unfortunately, writing is something that isn’t as much a focus as other areas of creativity in grade schools, or at least it wasn’t in my educational system. Nonetheless, there are things you can do in the classroom today to inspire the novelists, poets and bloggers of tomorrow. Write Source is full of writing resources, prompts and style manuals to help guide your students to become better writers and to help you include writing techniques in your curriculum.
There are different activities for each grade level, so if you need an example of a personal narrative for your second graders or an essay on a piece of literature for your high schoolers, there are several here to choose from. -JEREMY S. GRIFFIN
