History on your headphones: Stuff You Missed in History Class Podcast
June 5, 2009BY BILL FERRIS
The neat thing about the past is so much interesting stuff happened during it. So much, in fact, that your typical history class doesn’t have time to mention all of it (obviously). The fine folks at How Stuff Works have the skinny on a lot of great historical info you don’t have time to cover in their Stuff You Missed in History Class Podcast.
You’ll learn the facts behind some famous historical moments, such as the Marco Polo pasta myth and King Tut’s curse. Seeing as how the site is called How Stuff Works, several podcasts are devoted to the workings of historical moments and personages like the Battle of Gettysburg, Navajo code talkers, even Archimedes’ death ray. There’s so much fascinating information available, you could do worse than incorporating this content into your next history lesson. Choose from dozens of podcasts filled with hours of historical content, with more on the way. Another nice thing about history — it’s one of the few topics guaranteed to never run out.
