  • Hit the road and apply for a Target Field Trip Grant

Last year it was gas prices. This year, that darned economy is the culprit for killing school field trips. Even during hard times, your class doesn’t have to be confined to quarters. Target is again offering field trip grants worth up to $800 to 5,000 teachers this year.

Check the FAQ for field trip ideas before you submit your application. If you teach in North Carolina, we at LEARN NC have a few field trip ideas for you, broken down by county, city or zip code.

If you’ve got a great field trip idea and only lack the funds to make it happen, submit your application by November 3, 2009.  There are plenty of educational opportunities outside the classroom. These grants mean you won’t have to miss them.

I teach at a Title One school and we serve over 80% free and reduced lunch kids. We are trying to get the school to help us out with Tshirts with our names on them and a different color per teacher for second grade. But we are not aloud to ask for money from parents because of where I teach. We already have someone to make the Tshirts and It is going to be 8.00 a shirt for about 115 kids and seven teachers. Do you think you could help us out. Thanks. Tonia Malpass
