Win a trip to Antarctica. Yes, that’s supposed to be an incentive.
PolarTREC will send 36 teachers to the Arctic or Antarctic to work with polar research teams. They’ll take a mittens-on approach to learning about atmospheric chemistry, biology, history and culture in the coldest places on earth. According to the site:
“PolarTREC is an educational research experience, funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation and managed by the Arctic Research Consortium of the U.S., in which K-12 teachers participate in polar research, working closely with scientists as a pathway to improving science education.”
The application deadline is Monday, October 5 at 5 p.m. Sign up soon, and dig your winter coat out of the attic.
