What’s a classroom if not a place for motivation? We want to encourage our students to reach inward and for their very best. We do this with words and actions, but sometimes, a well-placed poster or saying can help, too. Poster-Street is a site that offers up free downloads of inspirational posters that can be used in the classroom. The site is divided up among such themes as Teacher Posters, Kid Posters, and more.

While the Poster-Street is not exactly overflowing with endless choices, it is a resource to bookmark for the times when something new needs to be hung on the wall or on the class website. (And the site also has a companion site for printable certificates, which might come in handy as some school districts head towards the end of the year)

Use in the Classroom

While the posters here can be used for display, they could also be used for inspiration. A teacher could share some of these posters (and talk about audience) and then encourage young writers and artists to team up to create some of their own. An ambitious class could also follow Poster-Street’s model and put the student posters up online for free downloads.
