Making video book reviews can net students free books

As long as students have a summer reading list, they may as well do a summer book report. Don’t worry, this is one assignment your students will enjoy.
The Big Apple Book Club, sponsored by Meet Me at the Corner, is looking for children ages 5-12 to submit video reviews of their favorite summer books. They’ll add a new student-produced video every Monday in July and August. If a student’s review is selected for publication, he or she will win a $25 book store gift certificate.
To see what judges are looking for, students should watch How to Make a Video Book Review. Final DVS tapes or CDs can be mailed to Meet Me At The Corner’s “Big Apple Book Club,” 20 West Del Norte St., Colorado Springs, CO 80907-7337. Bear in mind that submissions will not be returned.
FYI, if you’re not familiar with video editing, see Kevin’s post on JayCut.
