Aaron Fowles teaches ESL at Craigmont Middle School in Memphis, TN. Working in an urban environment has inspired him to create low-cost, high-tech solutions for his students, ranging from vintage computers running Linux to an international collaborative project run on a wiki.

Aaron believes that computer technology can help level the playing field for students who grow up in areas of poverty, because a computer doesn’t care if its operator wears nice clothes, has a nice house, or drives a nice car.

When he’s not geeking out (which, admittedly, takes up most of his time), Aaron plays chess and tries to keep up on his reading. Aaron can be found online rather easily:
